Chapter 1: Server Agent Installation

Please note that only Server Agent Installation (this chapter) should be performed

at the factory since configuration and customization are dependent on customer

site-specific environment.

Prerequisites

Hardware

Server Model

The NEC Express5800/320Lb server

Minimum Hard disk and Memory Capacity

Hard Disk: 77MB, Memory: 512 MB

Software

Operating System

NEC FT Linux Version 2.1.0.1-001

Installation Steps

Step 1

Insert the installation CD into the CD ROM drive

Step 2

“root” has not been changed, the default is “9hnAdx6Nz”)

Step 3

Type in the following to mount the CD as read only:

mount –o ro /dev/cdrom /mnt

Step 4

Type in the following:

rpm –i /mnt/server/ecsre-svr-3.1-2.i386.rpm

Step 5

You could verify that the rpm is installed successfully by the following command:

rpm –q ecsre-svr-3.1-2
